RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

How do you like Ontario's weather Gringo? :-) I'm about 300 miles North-East of you in the Montreal area. I just finished shoveling about a foot of snow in my driveway.

I have the same gauge on my bike. I like it. I bought the gas cap to match. Tommy, Did you find the grey wire to be somewhat tight? I will get the gas cap also.

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Hello friends, I wonder if any of you installed a LED gas gauge on their bike? Caus'... I need help. The gauge is installed and seem to work properly (look sweet!) however, there is a long grey wire that I'm suppose to route through a tunnel under the tank and add it to Speedometer connector 39B. Can someone tell me where is connector 39B and how I can get to it? The instructions sucks and I do not want to mess up. Thanks Got it... I had to route the grey wire in front of the tank. The connector is the one connected directly on the speedometer. The billet cross gas gauge looks awesome!!!

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

I'm headed out in a few minutes to do a Poker Run. I'm kinda psyched because I just realized that I haven't been on a run in about a year and a half. Maybe some of you have ralized that I haven't been around much. I've been batteling a massive bout with depression. This has lasted over an extended period of time. It's basically turned me into a hermit, stripped me of everything that I've learned to love, and is very had to get good treatment for. That totally blows because I uesd to be a very outgoing guy. Things have been better for me in the past few weeks. I'm hoping for a continued trend. I hope that you and your families are all well. Sometimes life hands you a turd sandwich but what doesn't kill you will truely make you stronger. Ride safe and ride often. I hear you bro... Sometimes life kick you in the head. When stuff like that happen to me, I tell the Big Man how I feel and ask him what I should do to make thing better. He always gets my back. I'm sure He will get yours also. Good luck on the poker run.

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Anybody changed their RKCustom's rear shocks for the regular touring ones or else? I'm looking into giving my sweet a more comfortable ride. I also read somewhere that the Road King Standard has better handling compare to the RKCustom. Apparently, the higher rear section provides a better steering angle. Comments, anyone?

Bobby, here is the link to one of the postings I was referring to called Riders with Ape Hangers Beware Thank you for the great tip KYFLHRSI. I changed the 2-piece clamp for the one you suggested and, on top of being safer, my 16" apes feel way better. Thanks again, bro!

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

... - also, when putting the apes on, you are supposed to replace the two individual brackets that hold down the bars with a one-piece top clamp. You can get one from HD for under $20 bucks. KYFLHRSI why did you have to replace the two brackets? Do you have the P/N for the one-piece top clamp? I did the same project two winters ago, putting 16" apes. I love them! Bobby B.
